Jimmy Van De Velde, Biographie

Jimmy Van de Velde, also known as DJ Nekbath, discovered electronic music in 1995. His passion for DJing and music production quickly opened the doors to the French electronic scene and later to international audiences, thanks to his recognized talent and relentless creative energy.

His performances—combining intense DJ sets and innovative music production—immerse audiences in a dynamic soundscape blending Techno and Tech House.

Originally from northern France, Jimmy moved to the south of France in 1989, where he later discovered the emerging electronic music movement. As his passion grew, his career began to take shape. He performed at various events while developing his production skills, experimenting with both hardware and computer-based setups.

In 1999, together with Sébastien Léger, he founded Last Resort Production, supporting the Cyclik and Subkroniq labels, which soon became influential references in the electronic music landscape. Building on this momentum, Jimmy developed his own artistic identity under his alias DJ Nekbath, releasing numerous productions and remixes for prestigious labels such as Subliminal, Defected, Hypnotic, Black Jack, and Riviera. Many of these tracks were featured on major compilations, including La Rocca – Marco on Sundays and Francesco Farfa – Travel Mate.

In 2001, he joined the Paris-based label Hypnotic Recording and began remixing tracks for artists including Kiko, Sébastien Léger, Ron Carroll, and Nicolas Wanderungen, released on top labels such as Subliminal, Defected, 20000 St, and Chicayork.

In 2003, Sébastien Léger and Jimmy launched the Bits Recording label, further expanding their creative footprint and contributing to the evolution of the electronic music scene.

That same period saw Jimmy’s reputation grow internationally, leading him to perform in Poland, Russia, Belgium, Spain, and Réunion Island. After a stay in Marbella to immerse himself in the local music scene, he returned to Belgium in 2004, where he remains an active and respected figure in the electronic music community.
